ACT in Winter 2020

September 3, 2023

In December 2020, as winter’s icy grip tightened, the ACT Foundation, in partnership with the Sanabil Foundation, embarked on a compassionate mission to alleviate the suffering of the poor people in Rasti, Madaripur. The initiative, aptly named “ACT in Winter,” was a heartfelt response to the bitter challenges faced by those without shelter, respite, or protection from the biting cold.

With a dedicated team of volunteers, ACT Foundation initiated its efforts to bring warmth and comfort to the lives of the sufferers. Winter, for them, was not a season of joyful festivities but a relentless battle for survival.

The collaboration with the Sanabil Foundation added significant strength to this noble endeavor. Together, they pooled their resources, determination, and compassion to ensure that the most vulnerable individuals in Rasti would receive the assistance they so desperately needed.

The heart of the project lay in the distribution of blankets—200 of them. These blankets were more than just pieces of fabric; they represented a lifeline to those in need. As they were handed out to the homeless, they carried warmth and a glimmer of hope in the coldest of times.

The volunteers from ACT Foundation left no stone unturned in their quest to reach those who required assistance the most. They combed the streets, visited shelters, and engaged with the local community to identify individuals at the mercy of winter’s unforgiving cold.

This assistance was not merely a material provision but a lifeline for the recipients of these blankets and winter clothes. The bitter cold of winter often brings severe illnesses, and these acts of kindness sought to protect the homeless from these dire consequences.

In a season where warmth and compassion should naturally prevail, the ACT Foundation and Sanabil Foundation demonstrated the true spirit of giving. Their collaboration was a powerful testament to the collective goodwill that can make a profound difference in the lives of those who need it the most.

As we cozy under our blankets and sip hot beverages during winter, let us remember the less fortunate individuals who don’t have the luxury of a warm home. “ACT in Winter” reminds us that a small act of kindness and effort can bring warmth and hope to the hearts of those in dire need, reaffirming the enduring power of compassion and solidarity.
