Ted Talks: The Official TED Guide to Public Speaking

March 5, 2020

Speak in public is just a synonym of fear for so many people, I’ve seen. Fortunately, I’ve overcome this so-called fear at my early childhood since I started to work in theatre. I found that this is really an art and a matter of confidence & knowledge to speak in front of thousands of eyes. Frequently I have been asked by my friends and colleagues that how they can deliver their best when they speak in university presentation, business presentation or when they talk in any public gathering. I would like to recommend this book to read. I just finished the book and can’t wait to share my feeling.

Chris Anderson, head of TED has written this book titled “TED Talks”. He has focused on presentation literacy, idea building, through-line selection, connection with the audience, narration, explanation techniques on tough topics, and persuasion. He has also shared his long experiences with TED in regard to the preparation process, onstage performance, and the overall reflection of TED talks.

A very well articulated book on public speaking I’ve ever read after the book “Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs”. I have learned hundreds of techniques from the book. I am sure, this book will have a great impact on my next presentation and that would just be the another beginning.
