International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (ICCIT) conference series a platform for researchers and industry practitioners to share complex problems and their solutions, and to shape new trends in Computer and Information Technology (CIT). The conference provides fertile ground for cultivating multifaceted aspects of CIT and also helps the CIT professionals, scientists, engineers, educators, researchers and students from all over the world to meet and exchange their scientific ideas. The willingness of practitioners to collaborate can be influenced by the goals of ICCIT. The researchers can share their knowledge and research tools, their available resources, and that provides the opportunities the practitioners to link and work together.
American International University Bangladesh (AIUB) is well known for their innovation and success in hosting many national and international workshops and conferences. To fulfill the above ICCIT conference objectives, the 14th International Conference on Computer and Information Technology (ICCIT 2011) was successfully organised and hosted by AIUB as part of the university’s 16th anniversary.
The inaugural session was held on December 22, 2011 at the AIUB Auditorium. Architect Yeafesh Osman, honourable state minister, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was the chief guest. Special Guest was Dr Carmen Zita Lamagna, Vice Chancellor, AIUB. Professor Dr Tafazzal Hossain, Chairman, Organising Committee, Vice President, Academics, AIUB and Dr Md Aynal Haque, Chairman, IEEE Bangladesh Section were present to grace the occasion.
This year’s conference received 353 submissions of which 310 were reviewed and 126 were finally accepted. A team of 92 reviewers, from outside Bangladesh evaluated these manuscripts. 21 separate technical sessions, four eminent keynote speeches, and more than hundreds of high-quality papers were presented during the whole conference. ICCIT papers of consecutive last three years are also being included in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library for world-wide disseminations. Selected enhanced versions of conference accepted papers. Upon further exhaustive reviews, they will be included in one of the four archival journal special issues -Journal of Communications, Journal of Computers, Journal of Multimedia and Journal of Networks.
The closing ceremony of the conference was held on December 24, 2011 at the Ball Room of the Hotel Westin, Gulshan 2, Dhaka. The chief guest Professor Dr A K Azad Chowdhury, Chairman (State Minister), University Grants Commission of Bangladesh and Special Guest Dr Carmen Zita Lamagna, Vice Chancellor, AIUB, were present to grace the convention.
